Payments Association

The Payments Association of South Africa has the responsibility to manage the South African payments by providing payment systems and relative financial services in order to provide the South African banking community with safe and efficient facilities to exchange payments. The Payments Association's payment systems and financial services ensure protection of payment details of payments which go through because of the highly effective and efficient payment systems and financial services which are offered.

The Payments Association also manages the clearing and settlement risks in the payment systems through which payments take place. Access of participants and prospective participants to the payment systems and financial services of the Payments Association is facilitated on a fair and equitable basis. The communication which occurs between the Payments Association and payment participants enables proper understanding of the payment systems and financial services provided and thus payments made are done so without any misunderstandings.
